Atlantic Holiday opened its doors in 1972 as a rehabilitation centre for the Danish people and was inaugurated by the social democratic Prime Minister Viggo Kampmann and Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline Matilda. Even then, the hotel was ahead of its time with its modern and innovative approach to tourism and the environment.

You’ll find us Callao Salvaje, a privileged area of the municipality of Costa Adeje, in the south-west of the island of Tenerife. The hotel is located next to Ajabo beach, in a quiet and friendly environment. This location allows us to offer the best views on the coast. In addition, other areas of interest are easily accessible thanks to the public transport service.

The Atlantic Holiday is a welcoming, bright and friendly hotel with a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Our guests quickly feel part of the hotel and that is why so many return year after year. Today we can boast that our first guests come back on holiday with the whole family, three or four generations together. This is the maximum seal of approval that our guests can give us.

Callao Salvaje, the small coastal town where the hotel is located, has been classified by the Spanish authorities as a place of special tourist interest. The hotel and its location quickly won the hearts of the Danish people because of the many hours of sunshine, the gentle sea breeze and a fantastic location right on the Atlantic Ocean with the neighbouring island of La Gomera in the horizon.

Sustainability and the environment have always been a priority for the hotel, and we try to incorporate green thinking in all decisions, both big and small. In 2022, Atlantic Holiday received the coveted Travelife seal of sustainability in the hotel sector. This demonstrates that Atlantic Holiday is helping to take holidaymakers towards greener holidays now and in the future.

Atlantic Holiday is owned by FolkeFerie.dk. FolkeFerie.dk is a Danish travel agency established as early as 1938, when a new holiday law was passed: workers and civil servants were guaranteed 14 days of paid holiday a year. FolkeFerie.dk is owned by the DFF Foundation, which aims to create holiday and leisure experiences for the Danish people.

DANISH CONSULATE

In 2019, veteran Atlantic Holiday director Charlotte Abildtrup added honorary consul to her title. The Danish Consulate for the Canary Islands is located in a modest office in Atlantic Holiday itself, where Her Royal Highness Queen Margrethe and King Juan Carlos adorn the wall. The consulate is open for consultations 15 hours a week, by appointment only. The Danish Consulate works dynamically with the consulates of many other countries to constantly improve the conditions for foreigners in the Canary Islands. At the consulate, Danish citizens can obtain passports, emergency passports, etc. and the consulate also helps Danes in distress and foreign citizens residing in Denmark.

Unfortunately, many families in Denmark do not have the opportunity to give their children the experience of being on holiday: To get away from everyday life. To experience and learn something new together. To relax and strengthen the family bond, to return happier and stronger to everyday life. FolkeFerieFonden supports these families.

In Denmark, 65,000 children live in poor conditions. Other children live in families struggling with mental illnesses and disabilities. Every day 11 children lose a parent and are in mourning. Many of these children and young people do not have the same experiences as their friends and peers who go on exotic trips and to theme parks.

At Atlantic Holiday we help different segments in our local area, such as families in Adeje affected by serious illnesses. Every summer we welcome several families to enjoy an all-inclusive week at the hotel.

THE AIM OF FOLKEFERIEFONDEN

The aim of the Foundation, either directly or through a wholly owned subsidiary, possibly in cooperation with other aid organisations, patients’ associations, public authorities and companies, is to contribute financially to the creation of positive holiday experiences for certain parts of society:

CAN I MAKE MY HOTEL RESERVATION BY PHONE?

Yes, make your reservation directly with us. You can contact us on +34 922 74 00 23 (extensions 2 or 3), or by whatsapp +34 649 771 902, where our staff will assist you and advise you about your reservation.

CAN I BRING MY PET TO THE HOTEL?

No, we are sorry. We do not accept any kind of pets in our facilities.

CAN I PAY FOR MY RESERVATION DIRECTLY AT THE HOTEL?

It all depends on the type of reservation you have made, please check the payment method of your reservation. If it is payment on arrival, you can pay at check-in – by credit card or cash.

I HAVE MADE A HOTEL RESERVATION, HOW DO I KNOW IF IT IS CONFIRMED?

Once you make a hotel reservation, you will receive an email with the details of the reservation. If it is a prepaid reservation, you will also receive information about it via email, in which case the voucher that you will have to show upon arrival will be attached. If an error has occurred during the reservation, the email will indicate the reason and one of our advisors will contact you to solve these errors as soon as possible.

CAN I EXTEND OR CHANGE A RESERVATION?

If you are not yet at the destination and you want to extend or change your stay at the hotel, please contact us at +34 922 74 00 23 or whatsapp +34 649 771 902 and one of our consultants will verify if it is possible. If you are already at your destination please contact the reception to do so.

I AM GOING TO ARRIVE VERY LATE AT NIGHT AT THE HOTEL, CAN I LOSE THE RE-BOOKING?

Don't worry, our reception is open 24 hours a day. You will not lose your reservation. We always try to connect with you before the cancellation.

IF I WANT TO CANCEL A RESERVATION, IS THERE A CANCELLATION FEE?

Not refundable: The client will have to pay the full price of the reservation, if he or she cancels at any time. The client will have to pay in advance the total price of the reservation at any time.

Flexible: 1 day (payment upon arrival) The client may cancel the reservation free of charge up to 1 day before the date of arrival. The client will have to pay the price of the first night if he or she cancels the day before the arrival date. No advance payment is required.

WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I NEED TO BRING UPON ARRIVAL AT THE HOTEL?

The reception staff will require to see the identification papers (passport, id-card, etc) of all guests above 12 years of age, who will be staying in the room.
